    Implementation Activities

    There is a range of activities that may assist in the implementation of administrative systems, including:

    Boosting Staff Confidence
    Staff should feel confident and prepared for the changes; resistance to change is common within organisations when new systems are introduced. These feelings are usually caused by fear or failure and loss of control due to job task conditions changing;staff training and morale boosting meetings and exercises can help in boosting staff confidence and helping them to be excited about the changes.

    Change Management Strategies
    Change management strategies are those that are designed to investigate all the impacts that changes will have within the organisation and assist in managing change to ensure that a seamless and efficient transition can be made. Change management includes:

    • Communicating change requirements

    • Putting strategies in place to roll the old system into the new

    • Training staff in the new system Putting the new system in place

    • Managing any issues that may arise due to the changes

    • Reviewing all changes made and modifying them if required

    Changing Team/Organisational Culture
    The culture of a team or organisation is the values and underlying attitudes that exist within the organisation, in some cases, over time, a negative or change resistant culture may have developed.     In some cases, depending on the complexity of the admAdministrative system that is being introduced and the number of tasks that need to be conducted as a part of the implementation, staff may need to have a temporary reduction of workload to allow them time to assist in the implementation and actively learn the new system without the usual pressures of the job role.

    Testing all the components of the new system is vital to ensure that any issues are identified and that the implementation is successful. Testing and trialling is an excellent way of ensuring that the system works before it is made live across the organisation.
